Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a time-honored healing practice rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine and supported by modern medical research. For thousands of years, it has been used to restore balance within the body, relieve pain, and support overall wellness.
Historically, acupuncture was developed to regulate the flow of “Qi,” or vital energy, through pathways in the body known as meridians. When this flow was disrupted, symptoms and illness were believed to occur. By stimulating specific points along these pathways, practitioners worked to restore harmony and promote natural healing.
Today, we understand acupuncture through a biomedical lens as well. Research shows that acupuncture stimulates the nervous system, increases circulation, reduces inflammation, and triggers the release of the body’s natural pain-relieving chemicals such as endorphins. It also helps regulate the autonomic nervous system, supporting relaxation, stress reduction, and improved sleep.
